welcome

Call for papers extended until July 5, 2026!

Welcome to the website for the interdisciplinary and international conferences "The Entrails of Gaia," which will take place:
- at the University of Picardy Jules Verne, in Amiens, from March 18 to 20, 2027
- at the University of Artois, in Arras and Lens, from October 14 to 16, 2027.

The two conferences, dedicated to the realities and representations of mining over the long term and in all geographical areas, are scheduled for 2027. The first will be held in Amiens from 18 to 20 March. The second will be organised in Lens and Arras from 14 to 16 October and will address the same themes from a more specific perspective on colonisation. Contributors are therefore invited to choose their conference based on this schedule.

Proposals for presentations (including a title, an abstract of no more than 400 words and a brief biographical note) must be uploaded to this Sciencesconf website before 15 June 5 July 2026. Responses from the Scientific Committee will be communicated in October 2026.

💶 Registration fees:

A registration fee of €50 is required from tenured faculty members. They will be requested once the program has been established and the speakers have been contacted.

Participants are encouraged to arrange for their institution to cover their travel and accommodation expenses, but assistance may be provided on a case-by-case basis.
